Human Pathology

Any illness can be treated with a deeper insight into ourselves. Our body responds to a great number of internal and external factors and any imbalance or impurity created by these disease causes. Balance in your body is therefore extremely essential. Ayurvedic texts speak of the bhutas, or components of the human body, which trigger the mechanisms responsible for all bodily functions. That knowledge helps us understand the real causes of diseases and how we can try to treat them.

Ayurveda breaks down the systems of governance of the human body into Dosha, Dhatu and Mala. It elaborates the different types of illnesses, physical and mental. Finally, it also shows us how to reverse the degradation and commence the healing process.

Ayurveda Philosophy

Ayurveda is thought to be highly inspired by Sage Kapila and the Sankhya School of Philosophy. Everything in the physical universe is said to have come from the union of Prakriti [matter] and Purusha [pure consciousness]. This cosmic relationship is responsible for the entire creation. Everything  is made up of the Pancha Maha Bhutas, or the Five Great Elements, which are Akasha (Ether or Space), Vayu (Air), Agni (Fire), Jala (Water) and Prithvi (Earth).

The guidelines, established by wise people on Ayurvedic treatment practices, give a good picture of the ideology that shaped the science of modern Ayurveda.
